November :)
If you were paying attention you might have thought where or where is Angela’s monthly newsletter at the start of the month. And then you might of thought, well she’s gone and forgotten! But you’d be wrong - I’m just moving the delivery date to the middle of the month.
Here are the highlights from the last month:
I was working on a new project and that I had a pretty tight deadline for that book, well I made it and actually came in a few days early. That means I wrote the first draft of a book in just under 8 weeks.
This is a new record for me and was tough, in that 8 weeks there were only 3 days I didn’t write and every day I missed meant that I had to work harder in the times I had. I love that I got it down so quickly, but I also know I couldn’t work at this pace all the time.
What’s next, once I've done the second draft of the new project it’s time to get back into Rowan’s world, with book five to finalise and book 6 to write I’m really excited to be going into next year with a good plan.
Last week I was back in Skye - on of my favourite places to be - this time in a little rented cottage rather than the camper and it was so relaxing. Now I’m back to and working on getting my WIP polished up.
I know it’s not December yet or the time for New Years Resolutions but I have made some plans for next year already. I’ll be going to Harrogate for the Crime Writing Festival - this will be my first year and I’m super excited to be going.
It’s very rainy here in Fife and as I was making my morning cup of tea I had an idea for a story that I’m quite excited about. Might be a short story, might be the basis of a book for Rowan - only time and musings will tell.
